because each click/press is shown on a new line!
For confirmation that the dongle is UNLOCKED:
K3805-z Features @ Vodafone.co.uk
and click the [+] next to "Can I use my USB modem
with a SIM card from another mobile operator?"
First let's clear the PC of any previous dongle software:
FIRST 3 STEPS ARE OPTIONAL (OR IF HAVING PROBLEMS)
1) unplug the dongle
2a) open "Add/Remove Programs" in Windows and uninstall
ALL dongle software (even from previous dongles)
help with: add remove programs
Next we connect the dongle & begin installation:
4) put your new sim in the dongle + connect it to a USB port
5a) software/drivers should begin to install automatically
5b) if nothing happens, you may have "autoplay" disabled for security
- open My Computer and double click the virtual CD Drive
- this drive will be named VMC Lite 9.4.8.21929 or similar
- in this drive is a file "setup_vmc_lite.exe" - double click it
Allowing Vodafone software to install (please be patient)
These next installation steps may take several minutes
6) allow drivers/software to install (multiple stages & "new hardware found" prompts)
7) the software will eventually ask you to choose a network/country
- if "new hardware" is still being recognised, please wait a few moments
IF YOU USE VODAFONE - THE NEXT STEP, 8) IS THE LAST ONE
if not using Vodafone please go straight to step 9)
8) select your network from the list & follow the on-screen instructions
(if your network is partnered with Vodafone - it will already be in the list)
- you will then be connected automatically
- please ignore the rest of the instructions
or
NON-VODAFONE NETWORKS EG giffgaff/3/o2/Orange
9a) select the Vodafone network for your country (or any!)
9b) when asked if Contract or Prepaid, select "Contract"
(if you use a prepay/prepaid sim still select "contract")
10a) allow the rest of the setup to complete
10b) the software will report "incorrect sim" or "sim not recognised"
* this is OK * this is OK * this is OK * this is OK * this is OK *
11) check that your network name appears with signal strength in the Vodafone software
("virtual networks" may appear as the network used eg giffgaff appears as o2)
12) close the Vodafone software (right click the Vodafone icon near the Windows clock and go to exit)
NOW WE NEED A COPY OF THE O2 CONNECTION MANAGER SOFTWARE
(experts please use mwconn)
13) download, install and run/open the o2 connection manager software
PC: download o2 connection manager
MAC: download o2 connection manager
14a) a window should appear asking "pay as you go" or "pay monthly" (contract)
if it doesn't - click settings (or the spanner/wrench icon) - then "change my details"
14b) select the correct type for your sim card - even if you're not using an o2 sim!
Next we set the o2 software to use the Vodafone dongle!
15a) click "Devices" in the list on the left
15b) "Vodafone Mobile Broadband Modem (ZTE)" will appear in device list
15c) click on "Vodafone Mobile Broadband Modem (ZTE)" + press button "Choose"
15d) "Vodafone Mobile Broadband Modem (ZTE)" should now be in bold text
IF YOU USE o2 MOBILE BROADBAND - JUST PRESS OK - YOU CAN NOW CONNECT
OTHER NETWORKS INCLUDING GIFFGAFF - CONTINUE TO STEP 16)

18a) enter your network's name in "New profile name"
18b) enter the username and password for your network

22a) when you have no wifi the modem will connect automatically
22b) or to manually connect - click "Available Networks" and then double click your network name
That's all!
You should now be able to open your usual internet browser
(eg Chrome, Firefox, Safari... or even Internet Explorer!)
